Wayne Osgood

Professor Osgood does research on a broad range of topics concerning delinquency and other problem behaviors during adolescence and early adulthood. His published research has addressed the generality of deviance, criminal careers, peer influence, sources of age differences, and the contribution of routine activities to offending. In addition to these topics concerning the causes of offending, he has conducted research on a variety of programs for juvenile offenders (including prevention, diversion, and residential programs), and he has written about statistical issues for the analysis of deviant behaviors and of longitudinal data.
Professor Osgood teaches substantive courses on juvenile justice, juvenile delinquency, crime and the life course, and communities and crime. His methodological courses have included research methods in Crime, Law, and Justice, statistical models for non-experimental research, and multilevel regression models.
